Inlayed Mahogany Tabletop

This tabletop was built to replace one that had been damaged on an antique writing desk that was given to me. The single drawer in the piece pulls out to provide a desk-like writing surface complete with pencil grooves and inkwell. The desktop lifts to reveal two compartments that provide storage of writing materials (or storage of collected memorabilia).

The picture is currently being used on the Microfence.com home page to display a collection of tools that have been used for inlay installation over the last century. At the center, it features the Micro Fence Micro Plunge Base and Edge Guide as the most recent addition to that collection.
