Media Wall Unit

Architect Scott MacGillivray came to me with detailed drawings of this wall-hung media center for his apartment. A stickler for detail, Scott’s designs are meticulously detailed and demand the highest level of quality. The oak casework was stained to a deep charcoal color after a light-colored grain-fill. Each door was clad with a stainless steel grill that wrapped around the edges. The compartments housed record, book and periodical storage, while the drawers provided CD, cassette and disc storage. When this photo was being taken, Scott put on “Mr. Blanding Builds His Dream House”, the 1948 film starring Cary Grant.

Scott’s design even included upholstered ottomans that fit under the hanging built-in unit (between the lower book/periodical storage cubes).
